As a professional I have 25 years of experience supporting people with highly complex needs in both intensive inpatient treatment settings and community based rehabilitation and counselling. During my career I have committed to ongoing education and training which has led me to the completion of my MA in Counselling Psychology and registration as a psychotherapist (qualifying). This commitment to ongoing training and professional education will ensure that I provide my clients with the support that they need and deserve based on both an emphasis on ongoing research and seeking to understand my client as a unique individual. As a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) I strive to incorporate a highly collaborative and person-centred approach to counselling. People communicate not only through their words but also through their behaviour, emotions and relationships. Understanding this message requires patience, skill and a willingness to walk with an individual in their experience and challenges. This is accomplished through the development of a therapeutic relationship, understanding and empathy to bring an individual’s struggles to light and support meaningful change.
"Recovery can take place only within the context of relationships; it cannot occur in isolation.”
